      These Terms cover Better Sidebar for Gemini & AI Studio and its optional companion Better Sidebar Web Agent Connector (together, "the Extensions"), published by Paper Crane Dev ("we", "our"). By installing or using the Extensions, you agree to these Terms.

      1. License

      The source code of the Extensions is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0. Your rights to use, study, modify and redistribute the code are set out in that license. These Terms add nothing that limits those rights; they cover the paid packs, the services around the Extensions, and responsibilities when using them.

      The names "Better Sidebar" and "Paper Crane Dev", and the logos, are not covered by the GPL. Please do not use them in a way that suggests a modified version comes from us.

      2. Support Pack and Power Pack

      • Some features need a Support Pack or a Power Pack, bought through Gumroad or Afdian. Payments and receipts are processed by those platforms under their own terms.
      • One-time purchase, no expiry. A pack is paid for once and its license does not expire. There is no subscription or renewal fee.
      • A license key unlocks the pack's features in a limited number of browser profiles. You can release an activation from the extension's settings and use it elsewhere.
      • Please do not share, resell or publish license keys. We may disable keys that are clearly being abused.
      • Updates. We provide updates and compatibility fixes while we actively maintain the Extensions. We don't promise to maintain them forever. Because Gemini and AI Studio are run by Google and change without notice, a feature may break until a fix ships, or have to be removed.
      • Later additions. Themes added in later versions are included in the packs that include themes today. We don't promise that every future premium feature will be added to a pack you already own.
      • If we stop maintaining the Extensions, we will release a final version that unlocks the features of the packs you bought without needing our license server, so your purchase keeps working in that version for as long as Gemini and AI Studio allow.
      • Refunds. If a pack isn't useful to you, ask within 7 days of purchase (email contact@papercranedev.com or reply to your receipt) for a full refund, no questions asked. A refunded key stops working. This doesn't limit any rights you have under consumer law where you live.

      3. Your Use of Google Services

      The Extensions work on top of Gemini and Google AI Studio. Your use of those services, including anything the AI agents send through your Gemini conversations, remains subject to Google's own terms and policies. The Extensions are an independent project and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google.

      4. AI Agents and the Web Agent

      • AI output can be wrong. Check results before relying on them, especially when an agent organizes, renames or deletes data, or edits files.
      • The Web Agent reads web pages and acts on them in your browser, with your logged-in accounts. Actions it takes, such as submitting a form, sending a message or placing an order, are done in your name and may not be reversible.
      • You approve each Web Agent action before it runs, and you are responsible for the actions you approve, including following the terms of the websites you use it on.
      • Do not use the Web Agent on banking, payment, medical or account-security pages, or anywhere a mistake would be costly. Web pages can contain hidden instructions meant to mislead the AI ("prompt injection").
      • Do not use the Extensions to break the law, to access systems you are not allowed to access, or to send spam or automated abuse to any website.

      5. Your Data

      The Extensions store your data locally in your browser (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for keeping backups with the built-in Export and backup features. We are not responsible for data lost through clearing browser data, uninstalling, profile corruption, or changes on Google's side.

      6. Disclaimer of Warranties

      THE EXTENSIONS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

      7. Limitation of Liability

      To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or business, arising from the use of or inability to use the Extensions, including losses caused by actions you approved for an AI agent. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for a pack in the 12 months before the claim.

      8. Changes and Termination

      We may change, suspend or stop any part of the Extensions or these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and significant changes will be mentioned in the update notes. You can stop using the Extensions at any time by uninstalling them. If we stop maintaining the Extensions, section 2 describes what happens to packs you already bought.
