  • No extra login or API key
  • Runs locally, no tracking
Why we built this

YouTube is great at videos. Less so at playlists.

01

One video at a time

Moving a video means the three-dots menu, save to the new list, then go back and remove it from the old one. Now do that fifty times.

02

Watch Later never ends

Hundreds of videos, endless scrolling, and the page gets slower the further you go. Deleted and private videos pile up in between.

03

Where did I save that?

You know you saved it somewhere. YouTube has no way to search inside your playlists, let alone across all of them.

Features

Everything a playlist page should have had.

Better Playlists takes over YouTube's playlist pages and adds the tools that were missing. Switch back to YouTube's native page anytime from the menu.

A sidebar for all your playlists

Switch between playlists without reloading or losing your place.

  • Grouped into Quick, Created and Saved
  • Drag and drop to reorder
  • Create, edit and share right from the sidebar

True batch operations

Select once, act once. Hours of clicking become a few seconds.

  • Shift + Click for ranges, select a page or the whole list
  • Move, or copy to several playlists at once
  • Asks before removing, so nothing goes by accident

One-click cleanup

Clear out what shouldn't be there anymore.

  • Remove deleted, private and region-blocked videos
  • Find duplicates, keep the first or the last copy

Search, inside and across

Find a video by title or channel, instantly.

  • Real-time filter within a playlist
  • Search all your playlists at once
  • Jump straight to the list that has it

Clean pagination

No more infinite scroll that slows the tab to a crawl.

  • 40 videos per page, jump to any page
  • Sort by date added, popularity or upload date
  • Local sorting never rewrites your real order

Looks like YouTube

Built on YouTube's own design tokens, fonts and corners, light and dark.

  • Feels native, not bolted on
  • Switch back to the native page in one click
  • Optional themes for all of YouTube

FAQ

Questions

Does it change my actual playlists?

Only when you ask it to. Move, copy, remove, reorder and edit are real changes on your YouTube account, the same ones you'd make by hand. Sorting by date or popularity happens locally and never rewrites your playlist's real order.

Do I need to sign in or give it access to my Google account?

No. It works with the YouTube session you're already signed in with, inside the YouTube tab. There's no separate login, API key or Google permission prompt.

Can I go back to YouTube's normal playlist page?

Yes. Every playlist page has "Switch to YouTube's view" in its ⋮ menu, and a small button brings you back. The toolbar popup can also turn Better Playlists off entirely.

What if I remove something by mistake?

Removals ask for confirmation first, and you decide in Settings when to be asked. Moves and copies only add videos to the playlists you pick.

Why does it need access to youtube.com?

To show the sidebar and the new playlist page, and to read and edit your playlists through YouTube itself. It doesn't run on any other site.

Will the free features stay free?

Yes. Everything for organizing playlists is free. The Support Pack only adds premium themes.

Does my Better Sidebar key work here?

No. Better Sidebar and Better Playlists are separate products with separate licenses.
